Seller's Guide
Us After Death Marketplace: Seller Guide
A guide to help Sellers navigate listings, communication, payments, and secure transfers on the Us After Death Marketplace.
How This Works
- Create a verified seller account and submit accurate ownership documents.
- List your burial plots, niches, crypts, or memorial items with complete and accurate details.
- Buyers submit payment into escrow via approved platforms (Stripe, PayPal, etc.).
- Complete notarized transfer documents promptly; funds are released after notarization.
- Maintain all communication within the Us After Death platform for security and compliance.
- Update listing status at least every 7 days to ensure accuracy.
- Burial plots, mausoleum crypts, and columbarium niches are exempt from sales tax. If you sell any items that do require sales tax (such as memorial products or add-ons), you must include the tax in the final price you give the buyer and you are responsible for sending that tax to your state.
- All sales are final once notarized transfer is completed.
Using the Custom Order Form
Sometimes buyers request a specific location, pair of niches, companion burial plots, or modified pricing. In these cases, Sellers should create a Custom Order Listing by cloning an existing product and customizing it for that buyer.
What You Can Customize:
- Exact section, row, or niche numbers
- Private pricing for a buyer you’ve already spoken with
- Description and notes for unique agreement terms
- Attachments, images or documentation specific to the location
- Hidden listing visibility (accessible only by link)

Tip: This feature is ideal when a buyer messages you inside the platform and asks for a personalized package or a specific configuration. Custom links allow buyers to check out securely through escrow while keeping the listing private.
Best Practices
- Respond to all buyer inquiries within 24–72 hours to maintain trust and visibility.
- Price competitively; top-performing listings are often ~20% below retail.
- Provide clear, high-quality photos and videos within the platform only.
- Ensure all ownership documents are current and verified before listing.
- Use Marketplace checkout exclusively; avoid off-platform payments.
- Follow all applicable laws and platform policies when selling memorial items.
- Keep listings accurate and updated; remove items that are no longer available.
Dos & Don’ts
- Provide complete and accurate listing information.
- Communicate only through the Us After Death platform.
- Complete notarized transfer documents promptly.
- Update your listing status weekly.
