FAQs
Us After Death FAQ
Who can use Us After Death?
Users must be 18 years or older and legally capable of entering into contracts. All account information must be accurate and complete.
How does the marketplace operate?
Us After Death is a platform connecting buyers and sellers of burial plots, columbariums, and memorial items. We facilitate payment, recordkeeping, and notarized transfers, but do not act as brokers, agents, or funeral service providers.
Are down payments only allowed?
No. A down payment does not grant ownership, and the notarized transfer cannot be completed until full payment is made and ownership is fully transferred. To make payments over time, Buyers may use approved buy-now-pay-later options such as Affirm, Afterpay, or Klama. These options allow you to complete the full transfer of ownership immediately while paying in installments, ensuring a secure and verified transaction.
What are Buyer responsibilities before purchase?
Buyers must perform due diligence, provide accurate information, comply with applicable laws, communicate through the platform, and understand that payments remain in escrow until notarization is complete.
What are Seller responsibilities?
Sellers must provide accurate listings and ownership documentation, complete notarized transfer documents promptly, set fair pricing, communicate with buyers, comply with laws, and update listings weekly.
How are payments handled?
All payments are made through Us After Death and held in escrow until notarized transfer is complete. Off-platform payments are prohibited. Sellers receive payment minus fees only after notarization.
What is a notarized transfer and why is it required?
Both Buyer and Seller must complete a notarized transfer of ownership for all transactions. Funds are not released until notarization is complete. Attending the notary appointment is the responsibility of both parties.
Can buyers request refunds after notarization?
No. Once notarized transfer documents are completed, all sales are final and non-refundable. Buyers also agree not to file chargebacks.
What are post-notarization responsibilities for buyers?
Buyers may need to deliver the notarized document to the facility and /or organizations and pay any required transfer fees directly. Us After Death does not handle these steps. Buyers should confirm instructions from the Seller or facility before escrow closes.
Does Us After Death communicate with facilities on behalf of buyers?
No. Us After Death does not deliver notarized documents, pay transfer fees, or contact facilities. All post-notarization steps must be completed directly by the Buyer with the facility.
Are off-platform transactions allowed?
No. All communication and payments must remain on-platform. Off-platform sales or sharing private user data is prohibited and may result in fines or account suspension.
How are listings verified?
All listings are reviewed for ownership, accuracy, and compliance. Listings cannot be published without valid ownership documentation, and non-compliant or fraudulent listings may be removed or suspended.
What are seller fees?
Sellers are responsible for any platform or service fees, which are automatically deducted from escrowed funds before payment is released.
Can gift cards be purchased or redeemed?
Yes, gift cards are final and non-refundable. They are valid for three years and can only be used on the Us After Death platform.
How does the platform handle disputes or liability?
Notarized transfer documents serve as final proof of ownership transfer. Us After Death is not liable for ownership disputes, misrepresentations, or post-transfer issues. Buyers may not request refunds after notarization.
How can users get support?
Users can contact support via email at support@usafterdeath.com. All communication with support must be professional and on-platform.
